Thank you for visiting the Gila Ridge High School Web site. This is an especially exciting time to be a Gila Ridge Hawk! The 2009 – 2010 school year marks our first with four full grades. As we progress through the school year, building traditions and striving for excellence, we will be preparing for our first graduation on May 28th, 2010. It has been very rewarding watching our senior class grow both academically and personally over the course of the last two years. This year, our bus is loaded and heading toward its destination: graduation!

Gila Ridge High School is a collaborative academic community. Our faculty work closely together to develop curriculum and assessments that are consistent from teacher to teacher. This practice provides a cohesive academic experience for our students. This year, we welcome twenty-two new teachers to our professional learning community. Some come to us with a wealth of experience, and some are just beginning their careers in education, but they all are committed to working collaboratively to provide our students with a world class education.

Our students excel inside and outside the classroom at Gila Ridge High School. Our student activities department has grown to include over thirty-five clubs, many of them competing at the state and national levels. The Gila Ridge Fine Arts department boasts some amazing talent in both the performing and visual arenas. This year our athletic teams will compete as full members of the Gila Valley Region. After getting a taste of varsity competition last year, our athletes are preparing to make a splash in ’09-’10.

As we travel toward our historic first graduation, we hope you will come out and support our Hawks, all 1800 plus. They are working hard to get better every day, because every day is a great day to be a Hawk!
